C.S. Lewis created an imaginary world

J.K. Rowling created an entire culture

J.R.R. Tolkien created a whole civilization and his own language

Then there’s me

Cheer up, you could have created 50 Shades of Grey

And now I get where catwhowalksthruwalls and areyouahauntedpotato’s discussion about the offensive nature of the phrase “incestuous slurry” comes from.

I remember that it made Cat think of lemons.

Socialism: You have 2 cows and you give one to your neighbour.
Communism: You have 2 cows; the Government takes both and gives you some milk.
Fascism: You have 2 cows; the Government takes both and sells you some milk.
Nazism: You have 2 cows; the Government takes both and shoots you.
Bureaucratism: You have 2 cows; the Government takes both, shoots one, milks the other and throws the milk away..
Traditional Capitalism: You have 2 cows. You sell one and buy a bull. You herd multiplies, and the economy grows. You sell them and retire on the income.
An American Corporation: You have 2 cows. You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows. Later, you hire a consultant to analyse why the cow dropped dead.
A French Corporation: You have 2 cows. You go on strike because you want three cows.
Japanese Corporation: You have 2 cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. You then create a clever cow cartoon image called Cowkimon and market them Worldwide.
An Italian Corporation: You have 2 cows, but you don't know where they are. You break for lunch.
A Swiss Corporation: You have 5000 cows. None of which belong to you. You charge others for storing them.
Chinese Corporation: You have 2 cows. You have 300 people milking them. You claim full employment, high bovine productivity, and arrest the newsman who reported the numbers.
An Iraqi Corporation: Everyone thinks you have lots of cows. You tell them that you have none. No one believes you and they bomb your arse. You still have no cows, but at least now you are part of a Democracy.......
Counter Culture: 'Wow, dig it, like there's these 2 cows, man, grazing in the hemp field. You gotta have some of this milk!'
Surrealism: You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.
Fatalist: You have 2 doomed cows...
A West-Country Corporation: You have 2 cows. That one on the left is kinda cute.

Home by Phillip Phillips

This came on in the car on the way home today. And I was trying to think of an AMV with this song, which is my latest way of occupying myself while driving. But I couldn’t think of one with this one. So I just started listening to it.

And the next thing you know, I was crying. Because for me, this song is Mount Holyoke, and my friends at Mount Holyoke.

I have successfully incorporated my first OTP into 3/4 table-top role-playing games I have participated in.

The only one I haven’t incorporated them into was one that basically finished before I even shipped them.

Let me give you a run-down of how this happened.

1st incorporation: Eloquent Empire.

I ran this game last summer, with eight of my friends. They encountered two foreigners, pictured below.

Noritaka Suto

and Ikuya Minamoto

Guess who’s who. It’s kind of obvious.

Anyway, Suto and Ikuya (one preferred his surname, the other his given name) were fugitives from an island nation after …. oh wait. I can’t tell you because spoilers for my game.

ANYWHO this is the first appearance of that OTP in my RPG’s.

2nd incorporation: boondoggleprospect’s Sailor Moon campaign, which ran last school year.

My character was Alexander Sar. He looked like Alexander the Great. Acted like one of the members of the OTP. The more flamboyant, over-the-top one, who often lets his emotions get the best of him.

LET ME TELL YOU THAT WAS FUN.

In his past, he had his heart broken by his childhood best friend, Hephaestion. He’d had a crush on Hephaestion for forever, but because Hephaestion was an undercover alien trying to infiltrate the local government (sort of; it’s complicated), Hephaestion turned him down. It was very sad.

AND NOW. FOR THE FINAL EVENT.

I created the pirate version of Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet. Her parents were both pirates, and she was born on a pirate ship. But one day, her parents were brutally murdered by assassins from the corrupt government of a town they were trying to smuggle from. Upon learning of her parent’s deaths, the rest of the crew threw her off the ship and left her behind in said town. She was only 3. Very sad. BUT THEN. The town was home to several homeless children, who’d been thrown out, or whose parents died, etc. Imagine Oliver Twist. There is a couple who trains the homeless children to steal, lie, beg, fight, whatever, so that they can survive. They had garnered enough money from one’s performances, and one’s money laundering, to be able to provide enough sustenance, when needed, so that these children would not starve.

BEAT THAT, MOTHER FLICKERS!!!!!!

On a side note, the DM of that last game bragged to me about one of his characters having a backstory that was an entire page.

So I’m sending him my usual backstory. Not in bullet-point form. Which, unfinished, stands at three pages. Typed, single-spaced, in 11-pt font.

All right, Mohos.

I will be coming back for GYGO, and I will be bringing sebas310 with me. So, in order to do this, I would like to know the dates for that event as soon as anyone knows them. I know it’s gonna be in October, and not F&F weekend, but … I need more specific information than that to book a hotel. (Yes, I’m staying in a hotel. Why? … Because. Hotels have really REALLY nice beds. And I have a job.)

So… yeah.

I know it’s only August, and no one’s at Moho right now, but I’m just letting y’all know in advance.
